Produced by Wayne Kramer  /  Engineered by Mike Wolf and Jon Newkirk  /  Recorded at Music Box Studio, North Hollywood 1996
Wayne Kramer opened on Radio Birdman's Australian reformation tour of January 1996. During the tour he and Deniz had discussed the idea of working together. The following July when both Deniz' and Wayne's schedules lined up, a small studio in North Hollywood was booked. There was no preparation or planning for this record whatsoever. With Wayne's expert rhythm section and gallons of coffee, Dodge Main was cranked out in just 4 days.
Deniz chose the MC5 tracks and Wayne chose the Birdman track. Deniz wrote Fire Comin' in his motel room on the second night, with Paul Ill contributing the middle 8 bars the next day. Wayne had previously written Citizen of Time and the band free jammed behind the simple riff. Better Than That was co-written by Deniz and Wayne while sitting in the studio with unplugged guitars. I-94 featured fresh lyrics, Deniz being tired of the old ones. Wayne added a ska beat with Brock Avery on African finger drums.
The opening track is the Sonic's Rendezvous classic, City Slang, with Scott Morgan from that band on vocals. Scott happened to be in LA and was called over, ending up doing several songs. The City Slang mix is heavy on rhythm guitars. There is a lot of the soloing on this track but it is barely audible, a tribute to the late Fred Smith.

SOUL MUSIC VOL. 1 is the amazing debut album by Californian newcomers JEFF HERSHEY & THE HEARTBEATS. These fine musicians have already taken over the USA rapidly with their powerful, groovy sound and their outstanding live performance, and are more than ready to take over the rest of the world now. This Blue Eyed Soul-Beat masterpiece was recorded with vintage equipment only onto analog tape (- engineered and mixed by Pete Curry of the STRAITJACKETS -) and it consists of ten fantastic Soul/R&B-gems, one catchier than the other. Listening to the sensational voice of singer Jeff Hershey and the authentic high quality-sound of the record, you will find yourself thinking these songs were actually produced in the 60’s.

The Dirty Names - Double Your Pleasure

The Dirty Names - Double Your Pleasure

The four members of Rock & Roll outfit, Dirty Names, started playing together early in life. Drummer Matt Rose and bassist Sam Wetterau have been friends since age 10 and played together in a band at age 15. Lead singer Harrison Cofer moved to their town of Annapolis, Maryland for his high school freshman year, upset that he had to leave his last band in Michigan.

In 2011, they released the five-track ROCK AND ROLL MIND CONTROL, which features “Salt Water Jackie,” a track with an award-winning music video that takes place in a ballet studio and shows the band using their music to once again corrupt. The first EP was recorded in a shack-like garage studio of a friend.

Earlier in 2012, they released SWEAT BOX, a six song EP recorded shirtless in a warehouse on a hot July day. The recording includes songs the band has been playing for a couple of years live but just hadn’t recorded yet. Dirty Names combined their two EP’s with a a new song for a debut record titled Double Your Pleasure.

Rockpile - Seconds Of Pleasure

Rockpile - Seconds Of Pleasure
In wav - Scans are included
1. Teacher Teacher
2. If Sugar Was As Sweet As You
3. Heart
4. Now And Always

6. Play That Fast Thing (One More Time)
7. Wrong Again (Let's Face It)
8. Pet You And Hold You

10. When I Write The Book
11. Fool Too Long
12. You Ain't Nothin' But Fine
13. Take A Message To Mary
14. Crying In The Rain
15. Poor Jenny
16. When Will I Be Loved
17. Back To Schooldays (Live)
18. They Called It Rock (Live)
19. Crawling From The Wreckage (Live)

Rockpile was formed as a backing band for Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds' solo records and as an outlet for the two the hit the road and play live. Along with Billy Bremmer on guitar and Terry Williams on drums, the unit played on great albums like Lowe's Jesus Of Cool & Labour Of Lust and Edmunds' Tracks On Wax & Repeat When Necessary which were essentially Rockpile records. Seconds Of Pleasure is the only official release under the Rockpile moniker. The album kicks off with a great one-two punch. First is an ode to teenage lust "Teacher Teacher" and then moves into an old Joe Tex rave up "If Sugar Was As Sweet As You". The third song is "Heart", which is probably more familiar in its later incarnation as a slowed down reggae song on Lowe's Nick The Knife album, is a fast-paced power pop tune, which is superior to the remake. Other standout cuts include "When I Write The Book", "Play That Fast Thing", "Now & Always" and the humorous "A Knife & A Fork". The original album contained a bonus 45 with 4 Everly Brothers remakes and they are included as the last four tracks on the disk. The best of the four is "Crying In The Rain". This remastered version has a great crisp and clean sound as great production is what Mr. Lowe is known for. The set includes three live tracks, "Back to Schooldays" and "They Call It Rock" which are from a 1977 BBC radio session and "Crawling From The Wreckage" which is from the live album Concerts for The People of Kampuchea which has sadly never been released on CD.

Dave Edmunds - Repeat When Necessary

Dave Edmunds - Repeat When Necessary

1. Girls Talk
2. Crawling From The Wreckage
3. The Creature From The Black Lagoon
4. Sweet Little Lisa
5. Dynamite
6. Queen Of Hearts
7. Home In My Hand
8. Goodbye Mr. Good Guy
9. Take Me For A Little While
10. We Were Both Wrong
11. Bad Is Bad

Though Rockpile only released one album under its own name, it also functioned as the backup band for a handful of releases by both Edmunds and Nick Lowe. One of the finest rock bands to come out of the '70s, Rockpile was a powerful quartet of guitarists Edmunds and Billy Bremner, bass player Lowe and drummer Terry Williams. On this album, Edmunds shows a keen sense for picking the right songs for his voice and for the band's sound. The production is crisp and powerful, with the ensemble sound taking precedence over the framing of individual instruments. REPEAT WHEN NECESSARY is full of great songs and great players--Williams in particular is an underrated marvel throughout. This is absolutely MY favorite album by DAVE EDMUNDS!

Revolutionary Means was released Oct 03, 1995. Kudos are in order for Scots Pirates in some respects: these middle-aged veterans are still playing the sort of rock they made their names with, and not selling out to wimpier and poppier approaches out of laziness or convenience. Lyrically, they're still affecting tough postures and handling reasonably tough, realistic topics, like violence and the need to, as one song puts it, "Stick to Your Guns." Personnel: Scott Morgan (vocals, guitar); Gary Rasmussen, Kathy Deschaine (vocals); Bobby East, Michael Katon (guitar); Scott Asheton (drums). http://netkups.com/?d=545725b1819a5

Pedico - Nixon Now

Based out of NYC and representing New York localism, Pedico are 3 guys that are all about being shirtless. Pedico are BEER SWILLING TUBE JUNKIES

They are all brothers (same mother, different fathers) and have been playing together since they were in middle school.

After his debut album, Aquashow, proved a critical success and a commercial failure, Elliott Murphy switched from Polydor to RCA for Lost Generation, on which Doors producer Paul A. Rothchild and a group of L.A. session musicians gave him a better sound. Again, Murphy was endlessly referential, name-checking everyone from Andy Warhol to Ezra Pound, mixing a contemporary New York City milieu with literary, cinematic, musical, and historical allusions in his sometimes whiney sawdust tenor while the band made like Blonde on Blonde. Nevertheless, Murphy remained an intriguing songwriter with a nervy cultural sense, and his future seemed promising.
