This sophomore album of the Sorrows was produced by Shel Talmy but frankly he must have fell asleep behind the soundboard because his input isn't really spectacular. I'd rather advise the first album, "Teenage Heartbreak". Not my rip!

THANKS A LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. Cheers from Rome. I was looking for this record I love your bloggg
Thanks for posting, I'd like to hear the first LP if you have it
Thanks...MUCH slicker than the first LP, but still good...."Christabelle" is a HUGE standout on this one.....
Hello, Arthur Alexander from SORROWS here...
Thanks for your review! In my opinion, this is the best and the most on-point review of this album I have seen to date! In fact, I think you were very polite and kind to us!... I have far less kind words for this album! ;)
On the up note, this year should finally(!) see the release of "Love Too Late" as it was REALLY intended to be, without the help from a "legendary producer". Thanks to Jim H. for your observation... I agree on all counts. Suffice it to say, it was NOT our intention.
As for our first album - "Teenage Heartbreak" - a version far superior to the original release, called "Bad Times Good Times", is available from Bomp! Records and through the usual on-line outlets as well.

Considering that "Teenage Heartbreak" was never re-released by CBS/SONY after its initial vinyl release and that the multitrack master tapes of it have been lost by the record company, it's as good as it's ever gonna get.
Thank you for keeping the flame alive! :)
Best,
Arthur
Thats GREAT news, Arthur! Sometimes, and in fact, MOST times, reappraising a release can lead to a whole new appreciation! To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what exactly the producer of that, ST, brought to that release, but would LOVE to hear that LP again!!!
Well, Jim... in my, arguably, not unbiased view, Shel Talmy brought absolutely nothing to this record, or more to the point, nothing that I can't wait to get rid of!
Other than the marquee of his famous name, or more precisely that of his famous associations with the likes of The Kinks or The Who, bands we all worshipped, his "producer" moniker turned out to be as bogus as the Sorrows' record he *fabricated*.
Now, please don't ask me how I REALLY feel about it! lol...
I absolutely LOVE this band and this album. Many, many thanks for the DL -- it will tide me over until I can get my hands on a cd copy! Sadly, my beloved vinyl copy vanished during a cross-country move, and I'm SO happy to be able to hear it again!
Our project on Facebook called "The Listening Post: the 80s" is covering every rock album from that decade (we'd love to have you, just ask to join) and this one is something we really want to hear, despite all the controversy. But I just can't seem to find a stream of it anywhere.
Can you make this available again for a short while?
Thanks.
@ Allen Lulu, send me your e-mail and I'll send you the songs (if I still have them on a hard drive). Cheers, Eric
