When his not touring he runs (together with Cardigans Peter Svensson & Hives Vigilante Carlstroem) one of the best vintage guitar shops in Stockholm. Formed in 2006, the BOOZE has already released three incredible albums, "Easybeats in modern time'', ''Straight, No Chaser" and ''Rebirth of the Cool''. This is a compilation of sorts from all three of them. It's that perfect mixture of wild ravin' r'n'b, classic 60's pop, blues, soul, garage
and mod beat that makes those misfit young folks so special. Genuinely disillusioned with the overall modern state of rock 'n' roll, they create music that speaks their language. And if that language is from forty-five-odd years ago, so be it. The band offers heartbroken lyrics set
to upbeat music, with drummer Shane Human peppering the songs with lively handclaps or a tambourine for percussive decoration. Their songs are catchy as hell and full of smooth guitar tones and pretty harmonies. Chad Tolliver's scratchy, vocals slightly modernize the tone,

Almost all of the songs are channeling Iggy or the New York Dolls, which is not something many bands can pull off. The drumming and bass playing are incredible, and the songwriting is sharp with many hooks that get stuck in your head almost as soon as you turn it up. Every song's a winner. This is a great garage-punk record that you gotta have.

The Love Me Nots score another knock out punch with their third release Upside Down/ Inside Out. Lead singer and farfisa organ player Nicole Laurenne's throaty, passionate vocals are irresistably good and her organ fills are tastily spread throughout each song. As good as Nicole is, The Love Me Nots are a true band featuring Michael Johnny Walker's subtle but totally shredding guitar sound, melodic bass lines and strong back up vocal shouts from gorgeous bassist Kyle Rose Stokes and powerhouse drumming from Vince Ramirez and Bob Hoag. The Love Me Nots play tribute to their idols of the past while updating the sound to make it their own. Although garage rock is a big part of their sound, the Love Me Nots will appeal to anyone who loves Rock N Roll in it's purest form.

The Hormones were formed in London in 1995. The band were to release 5 singles which were all met with acclaim but little commercial success.Things started to look up when US Sitcom
'Friends' used B-Side Track, 'Tired Old Souls' in an episode. They were subsequently asked to appear in an episode (playing the wedding band at x and y's wedding). This appearance led to a flood of interest in the band which left them in an optimistic mood for the future and the release of their debut album.The 'Where Old Ghosts Meet' album was recorded in 1998. However, problems at the record label meant that on the day that the album was released, the band were dropped from their record label. The band went on to tour Europe in1999 before Marc Carroll decided to split the band and went solo for a successful career ! Make sure to check "Mr Wilson" what a great song that is and worth alone the download.

The story of the '90s Memphis underground begins and ends with three guys, Jeff Evans, Jack Yarber, and Greg Cartwright (aka Jack Oblivion and Greg Oblivion). They figure heavily in the lineups of the bands appearing here, from the Gibson Bros.' happily raw cover of Rex Garvin's "Emulsified," to all The Oblivions-named stuff, to the Compulsive Gamblers' "Bad Taste," which, with its delightfully warbling vocals and whizzing organ runs is a pretty good primer of the funky white-man-sound of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. (Spencer once played with the Gibson Bros.). "Honey, I'm Too Old" is an old, surprisingly heartfelt Sympathy for the Record Industry side of Jack Oblivion's, while the Cool Jerks' "For a Little While" lurches and roars with boozy, glammy ardor. A cool Dick Dale-influenced instrumental from Impala offers a brief respite from all the swaggerin' and bloozy punk bluster, before Lorette Velvette's one-note electro boogie plunges you right back in it with the '60s update barn dance come-on of "Don't Crowd Your Mind." The Neckbones ("Eyeful") turn everything to 12 and pour beer on the mic, while the Satyrs' "Johnny Rebel" harbors a similar disrespect for eardrums. The ambitiously-named King Louie the 69th & the Harahan Crack Combo closes out the comp with the naughty trash overdrive of "Jailbait." This much is true: it isn't robbing liquor stores that knocked this King off his throne. In the end, History of Memphis Garage Rock is really more like a box of greasy Polaroids than a historical timeline. This is a hip shakin', ass wigglin' album that evokes everything good about the late 60s garage soul scene but with a sheer garage sensibility.The album was recorded in Sweat Box Studio in Austin, and mixed with Jim Diamond. Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, the Drifters, Phil Spector, the Everlys, Link Wray, the Ventures, and the Beatles were some of the main influences on Clovis Roblaine. The songs I listened to were things like "Peggy Sue", "Runaway", "Stand by Me", and instrumentals like "Walk, Don't Run", "Jack the Ripper", and "Baja". The sound was different in the 60's,and that's the sound I like. Nobody I knew was recording like that in 1979, so I decided to do it myself." In 1978, Clovis and Twinkie drummer Jim Herbst built a garage studio in Norman, Oklahoma. Clovis proceeded to record demos in order to get his engineering chops down, never intending to make an album. "Most of the songs were written in a two week period just to give myself material to engineer. I usually didn't finish the words until I was forced to do the vocals. That's why I like instrumentals - no words." Twinkie guitarist Terry Joe "Buffalo" Ware played on almost all of the sessions along with a host of Oklahoma musicians.

JOHN PAUL KEITH & THE ONE FOUR FIVES have released their debut cd on Big Legal Mess Records - an imprint of the legendary Fat Possum label of Oxford, Miss. Just who the hell are these people? Well, John Paul Keith is a native of Knoxville, TN, who has moved around a lot and played in a lot of bands (The V-Roys, The Nevers, Ryan Adams' Pink Hearts, Stateside, Harlan T. Bobo, Jack Oblivian, and Jim Dickinson's garage rock project, Snake Eyes). Keith moved to Memphis a couple years ago and hooked up with Alvin Youngblood Hart's former rhythm section, bassist M. EDGAR STUART and drummer JOHN ARGROVES. Not content to embarrass just themselves, they soon recruited guitarist/producer/recording engineer KEVIN CUBBINS, along with pedal steel player JOHN WHITTEMORE (Jack Oblivian & The Tennessee Tearjerkers), and organist/piano man AL GAMBLE.
