KING MOB - Force 9

KING MOB - Force 9

KING MOB is a London based supergroup comprising of guitar legend Chris Spedding (Roxy Music, Elton John, John Cale, Paul McCartney), Glen Matlock - bass (Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Faces), Martin Chambers – drums (Pretenders), Stephen W Parsons aka Snips – vocals (film composer and vocalist of legendary 70’s band Sharks) and introducing hot new guitar talent Sixteen.
Recorded in four days, the album shows a band at the height of their powers. From the sharp riffing of the first single “Selene Selene” to the truly infectious “VA VA VOOM”, from the gentle groove of “Chapel Of Love” to the blast of album opener “Lover Of High Renown”, this is an album that draws on the collective experience of all members to create something completely unique.
The band draw on the Spirit of ’69 – but not in a retrospective way – they are bringing the raw power and spirit of that golden age of music into a contemporary setting - from the songwriting, to the playing, to the sound of the records, to the live show, to the spirit of the act.
“Force 9” will be released through Steamhammer / SPV on the 31st October 2011. The band are to play an exclusive one-off headline show at London’s 229 The Venue, Great Portland Street on 17th November with special guests The Bermondsey Joyriders.

For tickets head to: http://www.229thevenue.co.uk/
Live dates are currently being set up to promote the album in European territories late 2011 and early 2012 with shows in Japan, Australia and South America following.
Check them out and buy this great record! It kicks major ass!

The Hellacopters - Head Off

The Hellacopters - Head Off

In Flac - covers are included

1. Electrocute 2. Midnight Angels 3. (I'm) Watching You 4. No Salvation 5. In the Sign of the Octopus 6. Veronica Lake 7. Another Turn 8. I Just Don't Know About Girls 9. Rescue 10. Making Up for Lost Time 11. Throttle Bottom 12. Darling Darling

2008 release, the seventh and final studio album from the Swedish rockers, appropriately titled Head Off. The album features a little sonic taste from every phase of The Hellacopters musical past, from the feed-backed and hum-bucked mayhem found on 1996's Grammy winning Super Shitty To The Max! to the refined songwriting and production found on their last studio album Rock & Roll Is Dead. Sayonara, brothers in Rock! 12 tracks including 'Electrocute', 'I'm Watching You' and 'I Just Don't Know About Girls'.

The Diamond dogs - Bound to Ravage

The Diamond dogs - Bound to Ravage

In Flac - covers are included

1. Sad To Say I'm Sorry 2. Bite Off 3. Bound To Ravage 4. From Now On 5. Autopilot 6. Somebody Elses Lord 7. Hardhitter 8. Things You'll Never Ever Gonna Wanna Do 9. Crooked Crutch 10. Goodbye Miss Jill 11. Gotta Be Gone (It's Alright) 12. Passing Through My Heart Swedish rockers Diamond Dogs have released 5 albums over 10 years in their native Scandinavia. This compilation covers their earlier material. There's a distinct nod towards fellow Scandinavians Hanoi Rocks in their rock'n'roll, and some great moments here. Opener 'Sad To Say I'm Sorry' hints at Rod Stewart, while there's a touch of Rose Tattoo in 'Bite Off'. So yes there's an element of roughness to the vocals that suits the music well. The use of both keyboards and saxophone work well, and bursts of slide guitar make sure the rocks really do roll.

Nathaniel Mayer - I Just Want To Be Held
In Flac - covers are included
1. I Wanna Dance With You
2. I Found Out
3. Satisfied Fool
4. I'm In Love
5. Leave Me Alone
6. You Gotta Work
7. From Now On
8. Stick It Or Lick It
9. You Are The One
10. What's Your Name

Veteran Detroit soulman Mayer had a brief taste of success in the early '60s as a teenage hit-maker, but his subsequent career has been built on his outrageous live act. Mayer, however, has a lot more going on than just his well-seasoned showmanship, as his first album in decades enjoyably demonstrates. Mayer's aggressive soul stylings are reinforced by a rocking garage-funk band that is as raw and real as the extroverted singer is, and the combination is certifiably combustible. Seven of the 10 tunes are Mayer's and most, such as "Stick It or Lick It," approach the trials and tribulations of romance from a decidedly adult perspective. The hard-driving funk of "I Wanna Dance with You" has spiky guitar punctuation over churning organ and some honking sax while "I'm In Love" juxtaposes pop-flavored chiming guitar work with Mayer's rawboned vocal. The one well-known cover is a gem as Mayer unleashes a primal vocal on a rambunctiously rhythmic remake of John Lennon's "I Found Out." --Michael Point

The Woggles "Fractured"

The Woggles "Fractured"

In Flac - covers are included

1. Fractured 2. You Turn The Hex On Me 3. Takamatsu Twist 4. C'mon And Swim 5. Believe Me Little Girl 6. Feelin' The Humidity 7. No Time To Lose 8. Doin' The Montague 9. Catch A Tiger 10. Love Is Such A Vise 11. Up On The Rooftops 12. V.I.P. 13. Bleedin' Me Down 14. Kingdom Of Nye

The Woggles in their own words :"Fractured's release in 2000 combined a number of longtime favorite songs from the Woggles live set, plus a slew of recent tunes road hardened over the past few months prior to recording. Finally making its way onto album is the show finale "Doing the Montague," in which the Gue calls out to the initiated to, "Get together and form a line, make it quick don't waste my time!" It ain't right to keep the big man waiting, especially a man with an appetite. Like he says,"Steak and chicken in breaded suits. Both of these are my favorite food groups!"
While touring Japan in 1999, the Woggles were fortunate to play in Takamatsu. While there, the kids turned the band onto a new version of the number one dance craze of all time with a new twist, the "Takamatsu Twist," that is! Other highlights include rockin' and rollickin' numbers like "Believe Me Little Girl," "Love Is Such A Vise," "You Turn the Hex On Me," plus the Dan Electro penned anthem "No Time To Lose."
On the dancin' side Buzz wants to let all the people know about true southern comfort in "Feelin' the Humidity." The Professor lectures on the proper treatment for celebrities, like the Woggles, in "V.I.P." and all the boys give the great Bobby Freeman a run for his money with a killer version of "C'mon and Swim."
The album winds up with what should be the theme song to Art Bell's radio show "Coast to Coast." Titled the "Kingdom of Nye," the song takes you on an alien abduction through cattle mutilations and ends up in a seperate dimension!"

Mooney Suzuki "People Get Ready"

Mooney Suzuki "People Get Ready"
In Flac - covers are
1. Singin' A Song About Today
2. Make My Way
3. Half Of My Heart
4. I Say I Love You
5. My Dear Persephone
6. Oh No
7. Right About Now
8. Make You Mine
9. Everything's Gone Wrong
10. Do It
11. Yeah You Can
12. Everytime
From the distorted guitar start of "People Get Ready" to its soulful finish, the Mooney Suzuki proves beyond the shadow of doubt that great American rock still exists. What this album lacks in depth in more than makes up for with attitude. This is roots rock the way it was originally created. After giving this one a listen you can list about 100 bands that they remind you of, yet borrow absolutely nothing. The Mooney Suzuki have a very distinct sound in a somewhat cloned genre.
