The MIGHTY GORDINIS : The Future looks like yesterday

"The Future looks like yesterday" the long out of print, latest and -in my humble opinion- best release by The MIGHTY GORDINIS, produced by the One and Only Pierre Vervloesem is now available for download at Bandcamp. Do yourself a favor and move your lazy asses over there to buy this amazing stuff.

The Ugly Beats - Bring On The Beats!

In Flac - covers are included

1. I'm The One 2. Trouble's Over 3. I'll Walk Away 4. Lonely Side Of Town 5. Ko'd 6. Girl On The Brain 7. I'll Make You Happy 8. Don't Girl 9. Done With Me 10. Filthy Rich 11. Get Up 12. I'll Close My Eyes

Superb debut album from this killer Austin, Texas garage band who have seemingly come out of nowhere to deliver one hell of a Pebbles/Nuggets-inspired gem. The Ugly Beats got the goods to authentically deliver the sound the way it should be delivered, and from the grooves emitting from this particular release they appear that they were born to do just that. Really great, natural vocal harmonies, which in this day and age of often strained, forced, snotty or outright screaming vocals is really quite a rare thing, combined with the wonderful Farfisa work and jangly, melodic guitars.

Larry Bright _ Shake That Thing!

6. Got My Mojo Working
7. When I Did the Mashed Potatoes With You
8. Surfin' Queen

11. Mojo Workout
12. Bloodhound
13. Twinkie Lee
14. (I'm A) Mojo Man
15. Teenage Jailbreak
16. Ugly American
17. The Thing
This amazing disc provides the perfect career overview of the inimitable brand of trashy, greasy dance-rock of Virginia-born, Texas-bred voodoo enthusiast Larry Bright, most accurately described by his very own mammy as "my li'l white bastard". Cut primarily in the pre-Beatle era by legendary L.A. producer Bob Keane, Larry is revealed alternately as a way cooler Johnny Rivers, a West Coast Ronnie Hawkins (dig his blistering "Mojo Workout"!), and most often as a more down, definitely dirtier Gary U.S. Bonds (the previously-unreleased "New Orleans" is positively swampy!). Heck, Bright even tried to cash in momentarily on the Surf Rock craze, though his Southern-fried "Surfin' Queen" sounds like it's hanging ten or eleven at the foot of the Mississippi rather than anywhere near Brian Wilson's sandbox.

Meanwhile, Larry more than proves he was, as claimed, Howlin' Wolf trapped inside the body of Pat Boone with an "I'm A Man" which, thanks to ferocious guitaring, cuts to absolute shreds other versions from the era - yes, even The Yardbirds'. As if all this isn't yet recommendation enough, howzabout the unsettlingly bizarre "When I Did The Mashed Potatoes With You" (Drifters on acid, I kid you not) and for real fun, check out Track 16, which begins with Keane ordering Larry, "I want you to write a song right now called The Ugly American". Scott 'Deluxe' Drake - Grand Mal

Scott 'Deluxe' Drake - Grand Mal
In Flac - covers are included
1. Grand Mal
2. You Can't Win
3. Shanghai Cabaret
4. Cadiz Arms
5. Cocktails!
6. Seasick
7. Bonjour Montreal
8. Cloak and Dagger
9. Blood Like Wine
10. I Suppose
11. Jezebel
12. The Egerton Grey
As founder, lead singer and songwriter of The Humpers, Scott Deluxe Drake spearheaded the street rock and roll revolution of the early 1990's. Scott and The Humpers signed to indie giants Epitaph Records in 1995 and took to the road for the next five years, spreading their raunchy gospel across America and Europe. The Humpers inspired young musicians in such far-flung lands that 2007 saw the release of a Humpers' tribute album in, of all places, Serbia! Scott continues his dominance of his chosen genre as a solo artist with the masterful ""Grand Mal"" . With songwriting that stands head and shoulders above the pack and a high energy stage show that has to be seen to be believed, Scott Deluxe Drake delivers something that is in short supply lately, real American rock and roll for the head and for the heart.

THE Headless Horsemen - Can't Help But Shake (1989)

THE Headless Horsemen - Can't Help But Shake (1989) REUPPED BY REQUEST

In flac - Covers included

1. Can't Help But Shake 2. Bitter Heart 3. Just Yesterday 4. Her Only Friend 5. I See The Truth 6. It's All Away 7. Same Old Thing 8. Not Today 9. Any Port In A Storm 10. She Knows Who 11. Mojo Item 12. Cellar Dwellar 13. Gotta be cool14. See you again

The Headless Horsemen arose out of the ashes of The Tryfles and The Fuzztones. Originally, the final Tryfles’ drummer, Celia Farber, hit the kit, but Dave Ari soon replaced her. Also on board was Chris Cush (who some know from Mojo Guitars and had been in a punk band called The Amps in the early ’80s). For awhile there, the Horsemen were one of the best bands around. They did some great recordings, too: just check the title track, "Can't help but shake" or "Gotta be cool" to be convinced! Get it.

14. Ma Juju Girl
15. Sock It To Me Santa
2010 debut from this British primitive Rock 'n' Roll outfit. London's newest Rhythm 'n' Blues-Punk sensations are making fun times where ever they go. With a repertoire encompassing and influenced by many of the greats of the '50s and '60s, you won't be able to help but move your feet when the Cumberland Three are blasting out of your speakers. The King howls like Screaming Jay Hawkins with Bo Diddley chasing his coat-tail whilst Andre Williams tries to offer up some of his bacon fat. This man never stops shakin' and twistin' and groovin' while the Cumberland Three (former members of the Parkinsons, Ulcers, and Chinese Lungs) play their own branded mix of vintage Rockabilly, desperate Rock 'n' Roll and a bit of Soul with fire, energy, gusto and fun.

Satan's Pilgrims - Psychsploitation

Satan's Pilgrims - Psychsploitation
In Flac - covers are included
1. Dilation
2. In the Past
3. Chestnut Trees and Bumblebees
4. Tomorrow Night's Mourning

9. Colours of Your Mind
10. Psycle Pswami
11. Rainy Day Green Stop Sign

Psychosploitation continues Satan's Pilgrims' tradition of beautiful instro rock, adding a synthesizer twist to some tracks that gives them a mystical feeling. 'Chestnut Trees & Bumblebees', 'Kaleidoscope' and 'Psycho Pswami' in particular benefit from being more arranged than the earlier works while retaining all the stark beauty of Satan's Pilgrims' previous instrumental works. Great!!!
