The Ventures were the best instrumental rock band ever and their songs are featured in brand new ways on this top-talent-heavy compilation. Satan's Pilgrims, the best of the modern surf bands, combine 2 of the most obscure, yet great, Ventures songs, "Escape" and "Psychedelic Venture", into a rockin' medley that will leave you wanting more. The Boss Martians take the "dry-guitar" sound the Ventures made famous and give their own wild spin on "Guitar Freakout". King of 60's fuzz guitar, Davie Allan simply kicks on "Lullaby of the Leaves" and Germany's Looney Tunes shred with a faster than hell "A Go-Go Dancer". Other highlights include "Swingin' Creeper" by the groovy Tiki Tones, "Stop Action" by the smart pairing of Eddie Angel (Los Straitjackets) with the Omega Men and "Journey to the Stars" by the Space Cossacks, another great instro band of this new wave of surf music.
