? (Question Mark) & the Mysterians decided to fund an album of re-recordings. The sessions duly took place over four days in July 1997. This album, while being a new recording, will hold you spellbound. From the start you feel that the Mysterians have lost absolutely nothing over the years. Such re-recordings are normally pale shadows of the originals, to be avoided at all costs, but ? & the Mysterians are the exception to the rule. The core original line-up of ?, Balderrama, Rodriguez, Martinez and Lugo quickly proved that they could still cut killer versions of their songs, often in one take. The album was supported by live dates that showed they were still one tight and rocking band. They were, and still are, everything that rock should be.

Debut solo album from Nasser Bouzida of Blow Up act, Big Boss Man. 'The Bongolian' fuses funk, latin and soul and features Bouzida on all instruments. The single, 'Bongohead', is included. As the cover says "100% heavy bongo vibes" mixed with a heavy case of the Hammond organ. Brings to mind legendary bands like Bar-kays, The Meters and Fatback Band. With their very analog lo-fi sound, it sounds like it was recorded in the mid 70's.

Zachary James and the All Seeing Eyes

Zachary James and the All Seeing Eyes
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included
Zachary James and the All Seeing Eyes play good old rock 'n' roll music that combines infectious hooks & sweet harmonies with the soulful-swagger of the 'Stones. Their raucous Richards-esque riffs, set to T-Rex's clog-stomp, inject early 70's glam a-la Faces with a dose of paint-it-black magic as captivating as Alice Cooper’s face paint. James' bewitchingly blues-drenched guitar work calls to mind the great Robert Johnson, interpreted like a charmer through Ronnie Wood's snakelike slide-style. Any old way you choose it, this consistently catchy album casts a spell that forces its listeners to jump, sway and sing under the spell of a Hoodoo moon. A real favorite of this blog, so go out, find it and buy it!!!!!!!!!!

Mondo Topless - Freaking Out

Mondo Topless - Freaking Out

Nothing Can Bring Me Down
I Ain't Dead Yet
Magic Potion
Freaking Out
Get Me To The World On Time

Left In The Dark
(We're A) Bad Trip
Mystery Girl
Asteroid B-612
Little Clown

Their 3rd album on Get Hip (following "Go Fast!" and "Take it Slow") and 5th overall, is unlike any other release they've had in their long history. Shortly after bringing new drummer Steve Thrash into the fold, they decided to augment their set list with a couple of covers that they thought would be fun to play. Before they knew it, they had built themselves a healthy repertoire of new songs - some recognizable, some not so well known, and still others that seem to defy description, at least in the garage purist sense. The band challenged themselves to put their own unique twist on each of these songs, making them their own, while retaining their original spirit. Sure, all the basic garage elements are there: fuzz guitar, snotty vocals, cheesy organ... but there's something else, something more. This is really an excellent album! GO AND BUY IT!!!!!
