The Rubinoos - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About... - Box set part.2
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

Disc: 2 1. Hurts Too Much 2. Hit the Nerve 3. I Love the Way You Touch 4. Never Too Late 5. Troubled Heart 6. Alright Without You 7. If I Had You Back [Demo Version] 8. Handle with Care 9. Disc two adds additional rarities from "Garage Sale" (including a great cover of The Raspberries "Cruisin' Music") and tracks that were demoed for a never-completed third group album. These latter tracks, including "Hurts Too Much" and "Hit the Nerve," are a truer continuation of the earlier albums than the Rundgren-produced "Party of Two" (which was credited as a Rubinoos release, but only included Rubin and Dunbar). Also on the second disc are selections from the group's more recent releases, "Paleophonic," "Crimes Against Music," and "Twist Pop Sin." The all-covers "Crimes" offers up moving versions of The Eurythmics "Thorn in My Side" and Todd Rundgren's "There Goes My Inspiration," and a superb Four Seasons styled take on the obscure Lou Christie tune, "If My Car Could Only Talk."

This mystery band called THE REAL BAD NEWS with their debut album "Black & White & Red All Over" comes out of Sacramento . This act, which reminds us so much of the legendary UNTAMED YOUTH, can really lay down the 60´s frat thing with a lot of feeling and guts. They were discovered by Deke Dickerson while they opened for him in California´s capital city. Give a listen - it´s straight forward rock´n´roll with a decided bent toward the pre-BEATLES sixties (just dig all that glorious organ and tenor saophone). And man, they even have their own theme song. Fact is, that the album got engineered and produced by Deke Dickerson and that he´s written the liner notes too, so let´s listen to what he´s saying about them.

Nearly three decades after this Australian band debuted on college radio with Stoneage Romeos and Mars Needs Guitars, changes in the line-up, break-ups and reformations, hiatuses, and one member's recovery from cancer haven't dimmed the group's energy. Fronted by singer-songwriter Dave Faulkner, the band's more soulful than in their earlier years, and though they're not as playful in doling out rapid-fire pop-culture references, they're still plenty of fun and, best of all, they rock. The band packs many styles into this hour-long, sixteen song album. There are Stones-y rockers ("What's in it for Me?"), Clash-styled martial beats ("A Few Home Truths"), lumbering twang that suggests a meeting of Lee Hazlewood and Neil Diamond ("Over Nothing?"), retro soul ("Only in America") and country-rock ("Somebody, Take Me Home").

A Skinny Tie Treasure from the mid/late 70s unearthed! The Poppees were one of the creators and the embodiment of what soon came to be known as the "Power Pop" sound of the late 70s. This long overdue anthology finally gives this notable and highly underrated band its due, elegantly chronicling the Poppees short but influential role in the history of the New York New Wave scene of the late 70`s. While anchored around their two classic Bomp singles, "If She Cries/Love of The Loved" (the latter track produced by Craig Leon of the Ramones fame), and "Jealousy/She`s Got It" (produced by Cyril Jordan of the Flamin` Groovies), "Pop Goes The Anthology" features never before released recordings, including demos, early live recordings, and culminating with a rip-roaring live performance at CBGB. It is complete with liner notes and unpublished photos. "After all, what would be more punk at that time than being in the Poppees - a band that emulated the early Beatles, from their moptops to their Cuban heels?" - WFMU

The Rubinoos - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About... - Box set part.3 reup by special request

The Rubinoos - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About... - Box set part.3
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

Disc: 3 1. Intro/Rockin' in the Jungle [Live] 2. Wouldn't It Be Nice [Live] 3. Peek-A-Boo [Live] 4. Hard to Get [Live] 5. Hey Royse [Live] 6. I Never Thought It Would Happen [Live] 7. Fallin' in Love [Live] 8. I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend [Live] 9. I Think We're Alone Now [Live] 10. Rock and Roll Is Dead [Live] 11. Sugar Sugar [Live] 12. Pushin' Too Hard [Live]

Disc three features an entire vintage concert, recorded in 1978 at London's Hammersmith Odeon. In addition to Rubinoos originals (including the otherwise unavailable "Hey Royse"), the band reaches back to their roots as a cover band, singing a cappella on "Rockin' in the Jungle," and jamming on bubblegum's national anthem, "Sugar Sugar." The latter even manages to quote "Smoke on the Water" and "Downtown" before invoking an audience sing-along! The show closes with a 6-minute cover of The Seeds "Pushin' Too Hard," and the disc ends with a a cover of "96 Tears." As tightly controlled as the Rubinoos were on disc, they were equally exhilarating on stage, able to reproduce their harmonies in concert and summon up great rock 'n' roll energy.

12. Perfectly Fine
13. Outro

The Reckless Hearts are a four piece Powerpop group hailing from the city of Milwaukee, USA. The band is new but largely built from components of the Danger and the Jet Set. Both are groups which managed to log touring time, full length records, and supporting slots for major touring acts such as the Black Angels, the Kills, the Soviettes, and the Makers among others.
The boys in the Reckless Hearts would like you to believe that they combine the uptight sound of early British Mod music like the Who, the hook driven power of the Buzzcocks, and the psychedelic vocal sound of the Byrds without becoming a cartoonish homage, but that is of course up for debate. What is for certain is that regardless of the musical touch points, the aim and central focus of the group is sincere and unrepentant fun. So while there may be fewer egotistical fireworks than some groups, the Reckless Hearts keep their priorities straight by making the song itself the star of the show.

Of all the British R&B bands to follow the Rolling Stones' footsteps, the Downliners Sect were arguably the rawest. The Sect didn't as much interpret the sound of Chess Records as attack it, with a finesse that made the Pretty Things seem positively suave in comparison. Long on crude energy and hoarse vocals, but short on originality and songwriting talent, the band never had a British hit, although they had some sizable singles in other European countries. Despite their lack of commercial success or appeal, the band managed to record three albums and various EPs and singles between 1963 and 1966, with detours into country-rock and an EP of death-rock tunes. Although they recorded afterwards, it is the Sect's early work that continues to attract connoisseurs of '60s garage and punk. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

Digitally remastered and expanded reissue of this 1966 Garage Rock classic including six bonus tracks. Today, Garage, Psych, and Punk are three overused words to say the least. They're dropped from every direction to brand, market, and sell, but looking back to the mid-1960s, there was only one group of musical mavericks that clearly defined them. The Monks were five beat playing American GIs stationed in Germany who, after their discharge, decided to stay and continue their musical mission. Meeting up with a team of local managers, they transformed themselves and their sound into a holy racket like the world had never known. This five-person order literally birthed the above genres through a fuzz-drenched evolution of sound, bursting with social commentary and future primitive rhythms. Black Monk Time is their mind-boggling debut album, and is far more popular today than it ever has been. Forget what you've heard about them because now it's time to actually hear them! ---Amazon.com
