Black Tie Revue - Code Fun

Black Tie Revue - Code Fun

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Red Everywhere 2. I'm So Sure 3. Code Fun 4. Call Waiting 5. There's Nothing Wrong With Veronica 6. Vegas Sticks 7. Too Much Thinking 8. The Late Show 9. All Of The Fish In The Sea 10. Absent Radio

Hailing from the Steel City Pittsburgh, PA's Black Tie Revue gelled as a band in 2005. This incredible pop band includes elements of The Records, The Yum Yums, The Velvet Underground and The Cars in their original catchy tunes and are proudly young and geeky. They play addictively hooky, flagrantly irresponsible three-chord power-pop songs, with loud guitars, new-wave keyboards, sing-along harmonies, and a whole lot of jumping around.

The Nomads - Big Sound 2000

The Nomads - Big Sound 2000

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Don't Pull My String 2. Ain't Yet Dead 3. Going Down Slow 4. Your Main Man 5. Some Other Crime 6. I've Seen Better 7. King of the Night Train 8. Good Stuff 9. Fast Can't Lose 10. Screaming 11. Worst Case Scenario 12. Another Man's Cross

These guys flat out rock with a capital R. This is straight up punk rock with lots of American rock influence. Sure they like the Sonics, but that ain't all they like: MC5, Johnny Thunders, Saints, Ramones, plenty of hard rockin' bands. But remember that these Swedes have been rockin' since the early 80's and became a huge influence on modern garage bands. Tons of melody, no shortage of attitude, and a thorough grasp of those that came before them (these guys do more covers than any sane band should) make em one helluva band.

This is one of those retro-feeling discs that gets better everytime you put it on! Fans of The Who, Small Faces and 60's sounds will enjoy this three piece band from the UK (manic female drummer!), as well as the songs. There are lots of groups out there with the feel, but many of them lack strong tunes - not so here!

Their 70´s styled blend of rock is best enjoyed live and they´ve had critics weep of joy and draw parallels to legendary bands such as the MC5, Blue Cheer and Cream. Since the release of their self entitled debut album in the spring of 2004 Captain Murphy have played hundreds of shows in Scandinavia, both on their own and as the support act for notorious groups such as the Backyard Babies and The Hellacopters. As if that wasn't enough they also managed to hit the road for a full fledged European tour sharing the stage with Norwegian rockers Gluecifer.

The Motions - The Original Recordings And More

The Motions - The Original Recordings And More

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

A pretty typical Dutch "beat" group of the 1960s, the Motions were pretty popular in their native land, releasing seven albums and over 27 singles in their eight-year career. Their best cut is the positively ferocious mod stomper "Everything That's Mine" (1966), with a searing feedback break worthy of the early Who. They're really most remembered for their lead guitarist and songwriter, Robby van Leeuwen, who left in 1967 to form Shocking Blue, and penned that group's international smash, "Venus." ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

1. Lies (Are Breaking My Heart) 2. One Track Mind 3. I Can Do It Better 4. Just One Girl 5. I Must Be Doing Something Right 6. Johnny B. Goode/Roll Over Beethoven/Sweet Little Sixteen/Johnny B. Goode 7. High On Love 8. Stick With Me 9. Love Is A Bird 10. I Love 11. They Ran For Their Lives 12. My Feet Are Off The Ground 13. She Said Goodbye 14. You're Bad 15. What Does That Make You 16. Rumours Gossip Words Untrue 17. Coming Generation 18. Can't You See I'm Trying 19. Sweet Green Fields 20. Give A Little Bit 21. Guaranteed Satisfaction 22. Little Children
In early 1966, the Knickerbockers hit the Top 20 with "Lies," the best and most accurate early Beatle imitation ever recorded; the lead vocals were a dead ringer for John Lennon and the whole production could have fit in snugly on the second side of A Hard Day's Night. Actually a frat rock band from New Jersey, they made a couple decent follow-ups : "One Track Mind" and the similarly mock-British Invasion "High on Love". Their three noteworthy singles were all featured in Rhino's Nuggets series.

Baby Shakes - The First One

Baby Shakes - The First One

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

Hello Hello - Far Away - What Can You Do - Now I Know - On My Way
- Ooh La Love - Love Machine - Come ON , Babe - Tell Me Now - Just Another.

Since the Spring of 2006, New York’s Baby Shakes have released two singles and one ten-inch. All of which are now out of print. Each new record proved much better than the one before, and now we’re ready to lay it all out there in the form of their first full length LP/CD with complete confidence that this record follows the same trend. The First One is the title, and it contains ten songs with licks as good as the looks. The Baby Shakes haven’t parted with the pop sensibility that was the backbone of their previous releases, but they have successfully figured out to incorporate the influences of all those glam records littering up their tiny New York apartments. The album has a few quick poppy tunes, but the majority of the record feels like Slade wrote a bunch of songs for the Shivvers. And that’s a good thing! The First One also features remarkable production (and drumming) from Mr. Dave Rahn of The Carbonas and Gentleman Jesse.

Slade - Slade In Flame (JAPANESE PRESSING (with bonus tracks)

Slade - Slade In Flame

@320 kbps - Covers are included

1. 1. How Does It Feel? 2. Them Kinda Monkeys Can't Swing 3. So Far So Good 4. Summer Song (Wishing You Were Here) 5. O.K. Yesterday Was Yesterday 6. Far Far Away 7. This Girl 8. Lay It Down 9. Heaven Knows 10. Standin' On The Corner 11. Thanks For The Memory - bonus track 12. Raining In My Champagne - bonus track
This is the soundtrack to what is most probably the best rock movie ever made, Slade In Flame. The year was 1974 and Slade had done most things by then, toured the world, had records straight into the charts at number 1 (the first time since the Beatles had done one decade earlier), number one albums and a movie was the next most logical move. However, fans were not ready or not expecting the movie that hit the cinema. Exposing the dark side to the music business was a shrewd and brave move. Most fans were expecting `a hard days' night type of comedy.

On "Berry'd Alive", Sacramento's own Groovie Ghoulies rips it up and lets it rock, in this tribute to the true King of Rock and Roll, Chuck Berry, covering some of Chuck's lesser known gems. This fun filled EP has plenty of teeth, passion, and enough rock and roll swagger, to remind us all why rock music is so good for the soul.
