When England's esteemed Guardian newspaper assembled their list of 1000 Albums to Hear Before You Die, the 1973 debut album from Blue Ash made the grade amongst all the established classics pretty remarkable for an obscure record that was out-of-print for over 30 years! Well, Collectors Choice has rectified that injustice, so this critically acclaimed LP can take its rightful place in the power pop pantheon. Signed to Mercury by legendary rock critic/publicist Paul Nelson, this four-piece from Youngstown, OH was among the first power pop bands alongside Badfinger, Big Star and Raspberries to revive the virtues of mid- Sixties rock against the then prevailing tides of prog excess and singersongwriter self-absorption. No More, No Less showcases the band s knack for melodic three-minute pop tunes delivered via a breathless attack that melded the Byrds jangle with the Who s rhythm section and the Fab Four s harmonies, as heard on the first cut and best-known track 'Abracadabra (Have You Seen Her?)'.

The Time Flys - 'Fly'

The Time Flys - 'Fly'

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Smokin' Dope 2. Jailbait 3. Dirt (My Best Friend) 4. Heavier 5. 1900's 6. 21st Century Ape Man 7. Theme 8. In My Skool 9. Offin' The Chief 10. Anti-Depresants 11. Teenage Tears 12. Teenage Is The Stoneage

Bands working in the "balls out" area of modern day r 'n' r by and large have trouble avoiding the twin pitfalls of being (a) too white-belt or (b) too by-the-numbers garage. Oakland, California punk group The Time Flys navigate the situation by going way weird, not in any really obvious way, just so that each song on their Fly album resonates with something slightly off-kilter. Plenty of '77 buzz-saw guitar and glam moves are employed, but they're rendered in a context that could be seen as truly psychedelic. http://sharebee.com/4a5aa781

The Woggles - Rock and Roll Backlash

The Woggles - Rock and Roll Backlash
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included
1. Rock and Roll Backlash 2. It's Not About What I Want (It's What You Got) 3. Porridge 4. There Goes Danger 5. I Gotta Go Now (Up on the Floor) 6. Drive On 7. El Toro 8. Sayonara Blues 9. The World is Falling 10. Time of My Own 11. Black Sheep 12. Blasting Cap
"While Rock and Roll Backlash boasts fuller-bodied production than many of the Woggles' early works, this doesn't detract from their Nuggets-and Pebbles-inspired aesthetic. The soulful title track calls to action horns and a Motown backbeat, while 'It's Not About What I Want (It's What You Got)' achieves terminal bop with a riff nicked from Dave Davies. 'Porridge' revives the bubblegum era practice of appropriating fairy tales for lyrical content, creating an ideal new segue from Sam the Sham's 'Li'l Red Riding Hood.' Throw in a harrowing cover of the Lords' 'The World Is Falling,' and this Backlash is ready for some castle storming." - Austin Chronicle

Flamin' Groovies- Slow Death

Flamin' Groovies- Slow Death

@ 320 kbps covers in a separate file

1. Sweet Little Rock And Roller 2. Slow Death 3. Let Me Rock 4. Dog Meat 5. Blues From Phyllis 6. Jumpin' Jack Flash 7. Roll Over Beethoven 8. Shake Some Action 9. When I Heard Your Name 10. Tallahassee Lassie SLOW DEATH serves as the missing link between the Groovies blues-influenced Kama Sutra years and the British Invasion Sire years. The Groovies were inbetween labels, Roy Loney had just left the band (replaced by Chris Wilson), Danny Mihm was about to take a brief vacation from the music biz, and Cyril Jordan began setting the Groovies in a new direction musically.
This really may be the best the Groovies ever sounded: very tight Stones-on-amphetamines rock and roll. Jordan and James Ferrell simply rock out on guitar and Mihm and George Alexander show why they're the best rhythm combination the Groovies ever had.
The first four tracks ("Sweet Little Rock & Roller," "Slow Death," "Let It Rock" and "Dog Meat") don't stop for any limiting adjectives. Adding the demo version of "Shake Some Action" is icing on the cake.
Yeah, the sound quality ain't the best, but be thankful these rehearsal tapes even exist. This was a powerful band which never quite reached this level of excitement again. http://rapidshare.com/files/220828030/Slow_Death.rar.html

here are the covers: http://sharebee.com/93060d7e
PS: special thanx to Curty Ray for the music.

They have released 2 albums, the self-produced "Tunes from the dusky dirtzone" (2004) and "Sophisticated Slaves" (2006) which was produced by Paul Smith (Dumbell, Shotgun Rationale) and Tony Slug (The Hydromatics, The Nitwitz). THE FONDAS latest 14 song CD. Fronted by the soulful vocals of JULIE BENJAMIN this Detroit based band features nine great new originals, ranging from the primitive fuzztone stomp of "Make You Mine" to the baroque/psychedelic ballad "Infatuation". Other originals include the more punk/ rave up "Cant Live With Out Love" and "Tied Emotion". Equally rich in depth and style are the more honkey tonk originals "May as well go" and "Tell Me Love Sick Blues". All this and "Don't Come Back" written by GREG CARTWRIGHT make RUNAWAY BOMBSHELL another great addition to the legacy of Motor City Rock and Roll.

Sweet - Blockbusters

Sweet - Blockbusters

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Ballroom Blitz 2. Hell Raiser 3. New York Connection 4. Little Willy 5. Burning 6. Need a Lot of Lovin' 7. Wig-Wam Bam 8. Blockbuster 9. Rock and Roll Disgrace 10. Chop Chop 11. Alexander Graham Bell 12. Poppa Joe 13. Co-Co 14. Funny Funny
The nucleus of The Sweet came together in 1966, when drummer Michael Thomas Tucker (b. 17 July 1947, Harlesden, London, England) and vocalist Brian Francis Connolly (b. 5 October 1945, Hamilton, Scotland) played together in Wainwright's Gentlemen, a small-time club circuit band whose repertoire comprised a mixture of Motown, R&B and psychedelia. The pair broke away to form Sweetshop, later shortened to just Sweet, with Steve Norman Priest (b. 23 February 1950, Hayes, Middlesex) on bass and Frank Torpey on guitar. After releasing four unsuccessful singles on Fontana and EMI, Torpey was replaced by first Mick Stewart, and then Mick by Andrew David Scott (b. 30 June 1949, Wrexham, Wales) and the new line-up signed to RCA. The band were introduced to the writing partnership of Chinn and Chapman, who were to provide the band with a string of hit singles. Their initial success was down to bubblegum pop anthems such as Funny Funny, Co-Co, Poppa Joe and Little Willy. However, the band were writing their own hard-rock numbers on the b-sides of these hits. This resulted in Chinn/Chapman coming up with heavier pop-rock numbers, most notably the powerful Blockbuster, which reached number 1 in the UK at the beginning of 1973. The group's determinedly effete, glam-rock image was reinforced by a succession of Top 10 hits, including Hell Raiser, Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage and The Six Teens.

New York Dolls - From Paris With Love (L.U.V.)

New York Dolls - From Paris With Love (L.U.V.)

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Introduction 2. Personality Crisis 3. Bad Girl 4. Looking For A Kiss 5. Give Her A Great Big Kiss 6. Stranded In The Jungle 7. Pills 8. Vietnamese Baby 9. Trash 10. Chatterbox 11. Puss N' Boots 12. Hoochie Coochie Man 13. Jet Boy

Better price w/slightly bent cover edges! They came from the outer limits of New York City, turned up their amps to 11, and gave a moribund Manhattan music scene its first great rock 'n' roll band since the VELVET UNDERGROUND. THE DOLLS were hardly played on the radio in their time but no band (save the STOOGES, perhaps) exerted a greater influence on early punk rock. The first European release for this 12-track set was recorded for Radio Luxembourg and originally released by Red Star Records. When firing on all cylinders, as in this set, THE DOLLS were great. It's a little over the top in spots but it just wouldn't be THE DOLLS if Thunders didn't bellow his backing vocals all over Johansen's lead while Sylvain delivered the occasional duff chord. This live album captures Johansen, Thunders, Sylvain, Kane and Nolan at their peak. The percussive thrash and mangled vocals of Personality Crisis, Pills and Vietnamese Baby show how they were the obvious prototype for the SEX PISTOLS and a thousand other punk acts. http://sharebee.com/a8731bce

New York Dolls - A Hard Night's Day

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Seven Day Weekend 2. Frankenstein 3. Who Are the Mystery Girls? 4. (There's Gonna Be A) Showdown 5. Back in the U.S.A. 6. Looking for a Kiss 7. Jet Boy 8. It's Too Late 9. Bad Detective 10. Lonely Planet Boy 11. Subway Train 12. Private World 13. Trash 14. Human Being 15. Don't Start Me Talkin' 16. Give Her a Great Big Kiss 17. Vietnamese Baby 18. Babylon 19. Bad Girl 20. Pills 21. Personality Crisis

This collection is a set of live-in-the-studio recordings originally recorded in NYC, march 1973. These 21 songs give a better example of the Doll's strengths than their two studio albums proper. This is the Dolls, from Noo Yawk, live and raw, just the way God intended.
These sessions have been released many times before under titles such as Seven Day Weekend and Endless Party, but usually omitting the last three songs on this set. This time we lose Hootchie Cootchie Man from the set, but that would be due to the limitations in the maximum length of a CD, I suppose, and a good trade-off...
The sound, cover art and liner notes (by Marty Thau, the Dolls manager at the time) are also superior than on other previous releases of this material.
Very highly recommended, even if you have the material already. A real gem!

The Guts - Let It Go

The Guts - Let It Go

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Blackout 2. Let It Go 3. Cigarettes and Valentines 4. Do What You Do 5. Crazy 6. She's Gone 7. The Reason 8. Heartbreaker 9. Cold Sweat 10. Always and Forever 11. Don't Wanna Be 12. Invisible Guy 13. Love, Love, Love 14. Down the Drain

Following the lead of New England greats like the Queers and the Leftovers come Portsmouth New Hampshire's Guts. Singer/guitarist Geoff Useless writes the songs while bassist/singer Nate Doyle holds down the rhythm section with drummer Rick Orcut. Recorded at Smart Studios by Justin Perkins with production help and guest vocals from Ben Weasel, the tunes on "Let It Go" combine melody, aggression and a sense of urgency in a way that every pop punk band aims for but so few nail - The Guts' take the direct, honest approach to playing music that is so often lacking in the fashion conscious punk bands on the magazine covers. They aren't very pretty and they don't move in all the right circles but they know how to write a kick-ass tune and remind you that after all the hype has died down and all the bells and whistles cease to amuse, there's still nothing like a good old-fashioned kick-ass punk rock band. http://sharebee.com/7ac42509

This cd is pretty good. Lyrics are totally about girls and dating and nothing else, makes you wonder if these guys have had the most sheltered upbringing in America. Seriously, these 13 songs all have that "i'd have that girl but for........", theme. Still the songs have a well produced full sound and lovers of power pop will not be disappointed here. They dont try a slowish ballad either so the cd rocks all the way through.

Towers of London are a punk/pop/rock band from London, England who formed in 2004. The band have divided the opinions of the British music press since their emergence in early 2004, gaining favorable reviews from some music news media and extremely negative from others, to which they have occasionally been quick to respond. Originally signed to TVT, their first LP Blood Sweat And Towers was released in June 2006. Donnie the lead singer went on to appear on T.V. shows like Big Brother and Never Mind The Buzzcocks as well as the band playing good supports to the likes of Guns and Roses and The New York Dolls. Before they released this self-titled first album in 1969 on the Josie label, the four New Orleans musicians who comprised the Meters had spent several years serving as producer Allen Toussaint's house band and backing the likes of Lee Dorsey, Chris Kenner, Earl King and Betty Harris. By the time they struck out on their own, keyboardist Art Neville, guitarist Leo Nocentelli, bassist George Porter Jr. and drummer Zigaboo Modeliste were a well-oiled machine whose earthy grooves and intricate rhythms set a standard for Crescent City funk that's never been matched. This classic debut, produced by Allen Toussaint, features the Meters' instrumental hits "Cissy Strut" and "Sophisticated Sissy," and covers of tunes by Sly Stone, Burt Bacharach and the Classics IV, along with a pair of previously unreleased bonus tracks. http://sharebee.com/f24a3cb2

AMERICAN HEARTBREAK - Postcards From Hell

AMERICAN HEARTBREAK - Postcards From Hell (Limited edition double cd)
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Superstar 2. White Girl 3. Drinks 4. Too Beautiful 5. Please Kill Me 6. Brain Vacation 7. Dead at Seventeen 8. Seven Time Loser 9. Not Alright 10. 4 A.M. 11. Arm Candy 12. Idiots on Parade 13. I Wish You Were (Dead) 14. Angeline 15. Postcards from Hell
American Heartbreak, which includes former members of Jetboy and Exodus, plays ultra-melodic, poppy, upbeat rock & roll along the lines of the New York Dolls, Starz, Moxy, T-Rex and most especially Cheap Trick. This is just pure, fun, rock & roll. The band does come across as a bit too polished at times. A slightly raunchier, heavier sound would give them a bit more edge, but that's a minor complaint about a band that's way too much fun to listen to.
If your idea of great rock & roll is the kind of music you play at full volume while singing along in the car with your friends (the opening of That 70's Show comes to mind), then you're absolutely going to love American Heartbreak. You can sing along to just about every song on this superfun album from the very first spin.

Tomorrow, you will get the second cd "You Will Not Be Getting Paid"

Rubber City Rebels - Re-Tired

Rubber City Rebels - Re-Tired

The original line-up of the band consisted of Rod Firestone (vocals), Buzz Clic (guitar), Donny Damage (bass), Stix Pelton (drums) and Pete Sake (keyboards).
In their early years, the Rebels were fans (and friends) of fellow Greater Cleveland-area bands The Dead Boys and Devo. Their breakout show was opening for The Dead Boys at legendary New York City rock club CBGB in 1977. This led to a split EP with The Bizarros, entitled From Akron, which was released that year. Firestone and Clic would go on to open the Crypt in Akron, at the time the only punk rock club in the Midwest. Bands including The Dead Boys, Devo, Pere Ubu and the Bizarros played at this club.
The Rebels moved to Los Angeles in 1978, minus Pelton (who was replaced on drums by Mike Hammer) and Sake (keyboards were deemed unnecessary for the band's change to a "heavier" sound), and gained considerable fame on the Sunset Strip. They would frequently headline at the famous Whisky A Go-Go for bands such as The Knack, Fear, The Kats, The Nu Kats, The Dickies and The Plimsouls. The band was signed to Sire Records in exclusive company like The Ramones, however a clash between band and record label ensued and the recording contract was terminated before the Rebels could record their debut album.
Following some personnel changes in the band (Damage and Hammer left, replaced by Johnny Bethesda and Brandon Matheson respectively), the Rebels signed a deal with Capitol Records helped in no small way by Doug Fieger, lead singer of The Knack (who were also signed to Capitol) and a self-professed fan of the band. Matheson and Fieger had previously been members of The Sunset Bombers and had one album released on Ariola Records. The Rebels debut, self-titled album was released in 1980. Although praised by critics, sales of the album never vaulted the band past its underground status and they did not follow up with a second release.
Despite not touring or recording any new material through the 1990s, the Rebels' reputation and support among fans remained strong and in 2001, White Noise Records released Re-Tired, a collection of live tracks and the Rebels' half of the From Akron EP.

Set the way-back machine for August 1974--Boston, Mass. That rumble you hear coming up from the basement of Jack's Drum Shop on Boylston Street isn't a derailing subway train. You, my friend, are hearing the birthing roar of Thundertrain! Five kids from the suburbs of Boss-town who, for the next five years, glory stomped their way up and down New England and beyond. Thundertrain became the heroes of every biker bar, high school cafeteria, and hip downtown club in Red Sox Country, grinding out a high-energy blitzkrieg of rebel rock, strutting their stuff at that dangerous corner where glam-meets- metal-meets-rock-&-roll-meets-punk. They were the bridge between the best of early '70's rock AND the return of straight ahead stripped down rock, with feet in both camps. From 1974 through 1979, you saw Thundertrain in 16 MAGAZINE, TIME, BOSTON GROUPIE NEWS, PLAYBOY, BOMP, VARIETY, ROCK SCENE and every DIY zine ever published.
