The Vipers - Outta The Nest

The Vipers - Outta The Nest

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included

1. Nothing's from Today 2. Now I Remember 3. Cheated and Lied 4. Dark as My Day 5. Tellin' Those Lies 6. Medication 7. Surprise, Surprise 8. Tears (Only Dry) 9. Ain't Nothin' Like Her 10. Borrowed Time 11. Not to Be in Love 12. We're Outta' Here! 13. Doin' It Well 14. Dust in My Pants 15. You Give Me Problems 16. Silver Lining 17. She's Coming Home 18. Talking to Stone 19. Nothing's from Today [4-Track Recording] 20. We're Outta' Here! [Flexi Disc]

The opening tune, "Nothing's From Today," with its chiming guitar opened the door into another dimension ... Then, there was the convincer -- track 2, "Now I Remember," an explosion of sight, sound, mind, drums, chimes and Eastern-influenced guitar madness, sent far over the wall midway through with a wailing scream from Weiss. The rest was just dessert: the brutal-nasty fuzz guitar line that provided the kick to The Standells' "Medication"; the romp-stomp of The Loved Ones' "Surprise Surprise"; the poppy, full-on, near-insane swirl of "Tellin' Those Lies"; "Cheated and Lied," which sounded like the theme to a '60s secret agent series; "Borrowed Time," commenced with a Middle Eastern guitar curlicue that set the tone to another agent-series-theme-in-wait; the appropriately gloomy overtones of "Dark as My Day" and "Not to Be in Love"; and the band's most sensitive song, the smart strummer "Tears (Only Dry)." In its time, this was a 12-song record. (The enhanced CD has eight bonus cuts, including the aforementioned original "Nothing's From Today," the ace stomper "Doin' It Well" and a rough version of "We're Outta Here" used as a flexidisc with Ron Rimsite's legendary garage zine 99th Floor.)

These "Early years" are great because you can verify there that when the Lyres are inspired as they are some evenings, they are the most fantastic rockin' band one can imagine. THIS RECORD IS A PURE NUGGET and its speeds up a 100 miles per hour. You can nearly feel the sweat beads coming of Jeff's hair to your face. A great collection of classic Lyres songs and covers! The Lyres are covering "Geraldine" so cleverly it sounds like a product of their own. Jim Topper is introducing the band and exalting his admiration speaking of its "majesticity". Bob Colby, famous for the "boob" - see the Real Kids first album - asks for "let's get a Party" and of course Jeff Monoman is treating the audience as if he was giving the ultimate party of the sixties.

Do The Robot (Bonus Track)

Digitally remastered and expanded reissue of the Australian Punk band's 1978 sophomore album now featuring an additional 14 bonus tracks, all taken from 'The International Robot Sessions'.Having kickstarted punk rock with 1977's seminal (I'm) Stranded, this runty, sardonic Brisbane foursome followed up their debut with an equally tasty and snarling collection. This time, however, the Saints added horns to certain tracks, sounding not unlike updated Teenage Head-era Flamin Groovies. Aside from a couple of morose antilove songs ("Untitled,"" "A Minor Aversion") and an acrid advert for their homeland (The Hilarious "Orstralia"), much of Eternally Yours consists of bilious attacks on consumer society and its myriad lures. --Barney Hoskyns

The Kids were One of the first groups in Belgium to really tap into the power of the international punk scene which was erupting in 1976-77. In retrospect, it is a bit foolish to call the Kids a "punk"-group, since they were much too R&B for that, but they certainly communicated the "punk"-feeling.

Pow City_ Fabulous Shakers Soul Party (1997) REUP

Pow City_ Fabulous Shakers Soul Party (1997)

@ 320 kbps - NO COVERS - too lazy to scan the damn thing again!!!!!

A mad and brilliant collection of hard and heavy soul numbers -- early funk tracks, late R&B numbers, and some killer hard soul tracks. 22 groovers in all -- with titles that include "Get Loose When You Get Loose" by Jessie Anderson, "The Stroke" by Andre Williams, "Uhuru" by Jomo, "Poo Poo Man" by Chet Poison Ivy, "The Funky Shing A Ling" by Milton Howard, "Pow City" by Freddie Scott, "False Advertising" by Roy Hightower, "Eddy's Go Go Train" by Eddy G Giles, "Do The Boogaloo" by King Coleman, and "What You Got" by Soul Brother Six.

The Fleshtones are back with Take a Good Look, a romping revival of happy-go-lucky mayhem. CBGB heyday stalwarts The Fleshtones are the originators of the garage revival still raging in the 21st century. With Take a Good Look, the band has reduced its Super Rock sound down to pure muscle and bone. Fuzzy guitars, vintage organ and cocksure swagger abound as the band re-stakes its claim on early 60s garage. Co-produced by legendary session vet Ivan Julian (Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Matthew Sweet) and the great Jim Diamond, the album seethes with party anthems and head-bopping mod rhythms. Songs like the self-assure 'Jet Set Fleshtones' and the thunderously riffed 'Never Grew Up' make it clear that the Fleshtones are still doing retro better and cooler than anyone on the planet. Hipsters be damned, rock n' roll is a party and The Fleshtones just tapped the keg!

"Everyday day is sunday" only is worth the price of admission here. Very brilliant song: Somewhere between The Rolling Stones circa 73/74 (ie. Goats head soup/ It's only rock'n'roll - a very under estimated period but nevertheless my FAVORITE) and nowadays bands like the Richmond sluts/Big Midnight. All the other tracks are cool as well but not as magical. Get it anyway.

"Munki Brain" is the 15th release from one of the hardest working bands in punk rock. THE QUEERS have been touring and releasing music for over 20 years, and in that time have garnered a huge following of devout fans. Sarcastic, silly, and offensive, Joe King and THE QUEERS have been called the true succesors to punk kings THE RAMONES. It's not hard to see why, and Joe has often collaborated with such musicians as Ben Weasel and Marky Ramone.

The Hydromatics was formed by Nick Royale from The Hellacopters and Tony Slug from Amsterdam punkband The Nitwitz. They planned to recorded a series of Sonic's Rendezvous Band coversongs, but the project was long on hold due to the hectic touring schedules of The Hellacopters. However Tony Slug was able to get a hold of Sonic's Rendezvous Band founder Scott Morgan and during the Hellacopters second visit to Detroit, Morgan happely accepted the offer to record with Tony and Nick. In 1999 Scott and Nick flew to Amsterdam and met up with Tony and his bandmate Theo Brouwer and The Hydromatics were born.
The band rehearsed for six days, played three shows in Amsterdam and wrote some new material for the bands debut album "Parts Unknown". After a sort tour of six weeks through Europe which resulted in the six track live-CD "Fluid Drive", Nick decided to leave the band due to his commitments to The Hellacopeters and was replaced by Andy Frost. In 2001 the band released their second album "Powerglide", containing seven Sonic's Rendezvous Band covers and seven new tracks.

This collection is subtitled "Raw Funk of '67-69!," and it lives up to that billing, with 22 hard-hitting funk tracks from artists who will be unknown to all but hardcore funksters. Well, maybe Andre Williams will be familiar to some, but that's it. This is funk with a pretty rippling and fast-tempoed guitar, horn and rhythm section, along the lines of the late-1960s James Brown band (as heard on both vocal and instrumental recordings) in particular, and also in the vein of less famous outfits like Dyke & the Blazers. It would be a great party disc for those who want to simultaneously get the guests dancing and impress all record collector friends in the room. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

The Lazy Cowgirls have made more than their share of brilliant records, but their real strength is as a live act. A promo spot advertising the broadcast that kicks off this album proclaims that the Lazy Cowgirls will play "loud, fast, hard rock & roll music," and it's hard to disagree. There are a few sloppy moments here and there (be warned: this is real rock & roll, where not everything is supposed to be perfect), and the sound is a bit thin (like the unretouched two-track recording it is), but all four Cowgirls are clearly audible and pouring their heart and soul into every moment of the show. Besides, how many bands can cover the Ramones and the Saints alongside Larry Williams and Jim Reeves and actually do justice to all of 'em? Radio Cowgirl was the first release from Sympathy for the Record Industry, and it's difficult to think of many better ways to get into the music business; the CD edition is even better, tacking on eight hard to find studio tracks as a bonus. ~ Mark Deming , All Music Guide

The self-titled debut was issued in 1979 followed two years later by Syl Sylvain and The Teardrops. Both albums are filled with hook-laden '50s influenced Rock and Pop and definitely more commercial than anything he recorded with the Dolls.

Probably THEE best compilation of Michigan rock from the '60s and one of the very best garage-oriented compilations of the era, and a pretty diverse one too. There's hot White soul from the Rationals, a rare single by the Amboy Dukes, raw folk-rock from the Human Beinzs and the Underdogs, burning garage punk from the Unrelated Segments, and even a castrato Four Seasons imitation by Tim Tam & the Turn-Ons. The heart of the collection, however, are the five early, pre-Elektra sides by the MC5, which are garage rock at its most metallic and furious, and the mid-'60s hard rock sides by Bob Seger, a good decade before he broke nationally.

THE Z-SHARE PROBLEM

Guys, by now every one of you must have noticed that all the Z-share links older than November 2008 are dead. The real problem is I had to delete all my back-up files to make some space on my hard drive. So please stop asking for reups because i don’t have those files on my hard drive anymore and frankly i don’t have the time or the energy to rip all those cds again or to scan all those covers again. Every now and then I will rip a cd again but only if I receive at least 5 requests (and anonymous don’t count!!!)
PS : the chick is only there to grab your attention!
