The Hoods - Gangsters & Morticians
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included
After the last gap efforts of the Tell Tale Hearts, Ugly Things Magazine's creator Mike Stax joined up with ex members of the Trebels in 1991 to form the Hoods. The band's 14 track demo was rerecorded for their LP "Gangsters and Morticians" . It's well known that Stax is crazy about the Pretty Things and Q65, but he never disappointed fans of thise bands, even if he didn't succeed in reaching the sublime levels of his idols. This release is no different- intense and purposeful. Here, unlike the works of the Crawdaddys and Tell Tale Hearts, we find greater professionalism from all the musicians. Everybody is faultless: from vocalist Jay Wiseman (co- author of a lot of the songs) to Dutch organist RON Swart. Stax was asked in the interview the difference between the Hoods and his past bands. His response was "More energy, more humour and more beer". Priceless.

Thanks Ratboy
To quote Peter Boyle "Holy crap!". I haven't heard this one in years. Back in the 80s and 90s I ate, drank and breathed garage bands, old and new, but I never actually got to see these guys. So thanks so much.
A superb record!!! Many thankx. Great, great garage sounds.
