ps : Thanks to my good friend Curty Ray who made me discover this band in the first place !
I just received the following message :
This is Rick from Acetate Records, we out out the Prima Donna record - PLEASE DO NOT POST THE ENTIRE RECORD FOR DOWNLOAD! The band lives off they money they receive, so they can tour and make more records, you are stealing from the same bands you are promoting! As of today 100 people have downloaded the record for free!? That is money out of their pockets, and money out of our pocket - we fund the bands to make these records you hold so dearly - I love them, too - but you don;t have the right to giveaway what's not yours to give - I will gladly give you a track or two to use on your blog - but that's not cool, if you want bands to continue to create the music you like, don't take it from them - Rick Ballard Acetate Records
Obviously guys at record labels really do have time on their hands, spending hours to check blogs in search of "illegal" posts. I gladly oblige and delete the link but two days in a row, this is become boring!!!!!!!
And for the record, i do NOT agree with Rick. I believe that people still buy cds when they really like what they hear. That's exactly what i did: as soon as i heard it , i wanted to buy it and i did so on the day it came out. And Rick also forgets to mention that he gives away dozens of cds to radio stations, fucking rock critics or promoters , but of course, this is "legal". WHATEVER.
Got this comment from Vex voxtone. It shows i'm not the only one to believe that blogs participate in a well needed "try before you buy" policy: "Ok I can relate with the fact that bands live from the money they make from selling their records but let's be serious this blog and similar ones won't make em hobos or bums. This way I can get to know a band that I wasn't familiar with before and here where I live I sure can't buy their merchandise ... and the punchline is that if I like the band, I'll be the first one to buy the original disc or vinyl. Anyway I hope these last things won't disappoint you and that you won't shut down this blog because it means alot to many people."
