Screaching Weasel were the first band to cover a Ramones album in it's entirety. They recorded it in one 14 hour session in October of 1992. The band sticks closely to the original arrangements of the songs, but they play them faster. Some people might criticize them for not changing things up a little, but it works fine. The CD adds four bonus tracks recorded in June 1996, which were originally released as the Formula 27 EP. This is a fun punk album.

What we have here is a collection of Hard Core R&B from places like Chicago and Detroit, Rocking Rhythm and Blues of the type not heard since the 60's and not likely to appear on your Drive Time Gold Radio Station. The Five Du Tones "Chicken Astronaut" is funny and it rocks, "Welfare Cheese" by Emmanuel Laskey is a topical tune that still has meaning today, and all of it gets the groove on without a slowie in sight. An archeological record of what R&B and Soul sounded like before everything got all smoothed out and watered down.

Obviously guys at record labels really do have time on their hands, spending hours to check blogs in search of "illegal" posts. I gladly oblige and delete the link but two days in a row, this is become boring!!!!!!!

And for the record, i do NOT agree with Rick. I believe that people still buy cds when they really like what they hear. That's exactly what i did: as soon as i heard it , i wanted to buy it and i did so on the day it came out. And Rick also forgets to mention that he gives away dozens of cds to radio stations, fucking rock critics or promoters , but of course, this is "legal". WHATEVER.

The pairing of legendary drummer Marky Ramone with Teenage Head is just one of those things you dream could happen. The Canadian kings of party rock, over the course of seven albums Hamilton, Ontario's Teenage Head has been one of Canada's most popular rock bands. Brownsville Station followed up their mammoth proto-punk hit "Smoking In The Boy's Room" with this slice of power-trio garage rock, and it solidified their reputation as a party band.
Originally released in 1974, this album also has two BS classics...the band's statement of purpose "Kings Of The Party" (a minor chart hit) and the continuation of great cover choices with "I'm The Leader Of The Gang" by glam rock king Gary Glitter.
That mix was between hard-rocking ("Kings Of The Party") and loving old 50's style rock (the medley of "I've Got Love If You Want It/I'm A King Bee") that predated The Ramones by a couple of years. Even though Brownsville's style of rock was closer to Foghat or J.Geils than the coming surge of punk to come, there is no denying that Cub Koda and the boys had an influence on garage rockers everywhere, and "School Punks" is probably their most consistent album.

Though the group's lineup fluctuated significantly throughout their career, bassist/vocalist Kepi remained a constant fixture.
After Groovie Ghoulies disbanded in 2007, he immediately formed Kepi: The Band, and has since proved that he can still crank out hummable tunes. "Hanging Out" features churning, power-chord-driven rock of the sort familiar to Groovie Ghoulies fans.

Paula Monarch's vocals are equally snotty pop-punk (Nikki Corvette, Paula Pierce, NY Dolls, etc.) and kittenishly seductive. The band delivers their sonic punch with a rock solid rhythm section and ferocious electric guitars - something like what the Runaways might have sounded like if they'd begun (rather than evolved into being) Joan Jett's backing band.
The band writes their own material (save for a cover of Jeff Dahl's "Ain't So Cool"), and it's filled with memorable musical hooks and lyrics about their kind of trouble (namely, bad boys) and plenty of kiss-and-tell offs. This album rocks hard! NEW LINK
