Tattooed Millionaires - Armed & Hammered

Tattooed Millionaires - Armed & Hammered
@ 320 NO COVERS - thanx to a great band as far as the music is concerned but are real assholes when it comes to merchandising. Who the hell sells CDs with no covers?????????? They DO obviously!

This is the only correct list (the list on the cd is NOT correct):(Yes, they even managed to screw that up too!!!!)
01. Subsonic 02. Teenage Love03. I Just Want The Drugs 04. Laid in the USA05. Freedom To Rock 06. All I Want Is You07. Next Big Thing 08. Gimme Good Head 09. Dance To The Sound 10. How Big Is Your Rock'n'Roll Heart?
Tattooed Millionaires is a glam, punk band hailing from Hollywood California. Their second effort Armed & Hammered is a short one. Clocking in just shy of 29 minutes in length. This CD will immerse you in a punk/sleaze mixture with catchy tunes and ripping guitar solos.Fans of bands like Hanoi Rocks need to give this a listen.

The Trashmen - Live Bird '65-'67

@ 320 - covers are included
1. Lets Go Trippin' 2. Baja 3. Lovin' Up A Storm 4. Malaguena 5. Green Onions 6. Surfin' Bird 7. Henrietta 8. Rumble 9. Bird Dance Beat 10. King Of The Surf 11. The "trashmen Report" 12. Mash Potatoes 13. The "trashmen Report" 14. Ubangi Stomp 15. Dal Winslow Interview 16. Same Lines 17. Keep Your Hands Off My Baby
This is a live album by the greatest surf band ever to come out of Minnesota. It was recorded at various gigs between 1965 and 1967. Somewhat surprisingly, it is in stereo. The sound quality is pretty good, considering the time period it was recorded in. The Trashmen were a pretty good live act, judging by the evidence here. They played a mix of instrumentals and vocal songs.

Bobby Fuller Four - KRLA King of the wheels

@ 320 - covers are included
1 Love's Made A Fool Of You 2 Don't Ever Let Me Know 3 My True Love 4 I'm A Lucky Guy 5 The Magic Touch 6 King Of The Wheels 7 The Lonely Dragster 8 The Phantom Dragster 9 Krla Top Eliminator 10 She's My Girl 11 It's Love, Come What May 12 I Fought The Law 13 Only The Young 14 You Kiss Me 15 Just Pickin' Around 16 Donna 17 Night Train 18 You Made Me Cry 19 Guess We'll Fall In Love 20 Angel Face 21 King Of The Beach 22 Nervous Breakdown 23 Peggy Sue / Pamela 24 The Lonely Sea 25 Keep On Dancing 26 Misirlou

Just after "I Fought The Law" became a top ten hit, Bobby Fuller was found dead in his parked automobile near his Los Angeles home. The police considered the death an apparent suicide, however many people still believe Fuller was murdered. The investigation was botched from the start. The crime scene was not secured and no fingerprints were obtained. A witness also claimed seeing a police officer throw a can of gasoline found at the scene into the trash. Fuller was found with multiple wounds all over his body and covered in gasoline leading many to speculate that the perpetrators fled before they could set the car on fire. Police later changed the cause of death to "Accidental asphyxiation" citing no evidence of foul play.Despite the official cause of death stated by authorities, rumors and speculation still surround Fuller's mysterious death.

Electric Soup is a 19-track collection of the band's best singles. Alabama-based power pop/bubblegum combo the Lolas formed in 1998 around vocalist/guitarist Tim Boykin (Shame Idols), drummer Mark Reynolds, and bassist Walon Smith. They debuted with the Ballerina Breakout LP a year later, and followed it with Silver Dollar Sunday in 2001. Between albums the Lolas did some touring, and recorded a blisteringly faithful version of "Color Me Impressed" for the 2001 Replacements tribute on Facedown entitled Left of the Dial~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

Jan & Dean - Drag city

Jan & Dean - Drag city

@ 320 - covers are included
1. Drag City 2. I Gotta Drive 3. Drag Strip Girl 4. Surfin' Hearse 5. Dead Man's Curve 6. Schlock Rod (Part 1) 7. Schlock Rod (Part 2) 8. Popsicle Truck 9. Surf Route 10. Sting Ray 11. Little Deuce Coupe 12. Hot Stocker
Drag City is arguably Jan & Dean's best album. Unlike the typical albums of the era, which used to feature one or two hits plus covers of other performer's hits, this album features almost all original tunes (other than a cover of "Little Deuce Coupe"). The songs are all about cars and they are all good. "Drag City" was the hit single, but "Popsicle Truck" also became a hit later, as did "Dead Man's Curve" (but this isn't the version of "Dead Man's Curve" that was later released as a single).

This Seattle band brings a bit more sonic aggression to their jangly power-pop sound on their remarkable 2nd album. Like their sterling debut, its another first-rate set overflowing with melodic hooks and rich harmonies while also showcasing more energetic tempos and biting guitar lines. Armed with two Rickenbacker guitars and endless harmonies, the group is a bunch of unabashed pop classicists, bringing to mind not just '70s power-pop but the heyday of jangle-pop in the '80s, from the REM ringing of the guitars to the Robyn Hitchcock edge delivery from singer/songwriter James Hall. - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic.com

Back to the Bad Afro Records label in 2006, THE FLAMING SIDEBURNS
decided to release a compilation of (then) previous unreleased
material, B-sides and other rare stuff. And there were enough nice
goodies on there to satisfy the fans. Not everybody will have tracks
like 'Let Me Go', 'Last Time Around' and 'Leave Me Alone' in his
collection. With this material the band underlined why they had the
status they had. Covers of MC5 ('High Time'), Grand Funk Railroad ('Are
You Ready') and Little Richard ('Bama Lama Loo') swing like hell.

THE SHAME IDOLS - I got time
@ 320 kbps - Covers are included
1. Superman 2. Impossible 3. Lucky Dollar 4. I Got Time 5. Sun Ra 6. Down in Alley 7. Pretty Baby 8. Where I Want You 9. Slug Buffet 10. Probably Safe 11. Thing 12. Record Breaker 13. Airhead 14. Not in the Way 15. Split
I Got Time is one smoking set of punk-fueled pop. The opening avalanche of drums and slashing chords in "Superman" immediately brings to mind a friendly meeting of the Ramones, the Fluid, and Cheap Trick. The verses are almost as hook-laden as their choruses and they work enough variety (a bit of psychedelia, lots of humor) into the tunes to keep the 15 tracks from becoming a blur.

The folks at Sundazed bring you yet another great album from the surf rock kings The Challengers from 1964. This release includes 3 bonus tracks 'Hot Rod Show', Hot Rod Hootenanny' and 'The Fastest Time'. This is the fourth album by prolific surf band the Challengers. It is named after their best known song, "K-39". Most of the rest of the album features cover versions of (then) recent instrumental hits. This is good stuff. The songs are well played in the classic surf music style. The version of "Wipe Out" is especially interesting, because it has a very different arrangement than the Surfaris hit version.

THE RIP CHORDS Hey Little Cobra and Other Hot Rod Hits

THE RIP CHORDS - Hey Little Cobra and Other Hot Rod Hits

@ 320 kbps - Covers are included
1. Hey Little Cobra 2. Here I Stand 3. The Queen 4. 409 5. Trophy Machine 6. Gone 7. Little Deuce Coupe 8. '40 Ford Time 9. She Thinks I Still Care 10. Shut Down 11. Drag City 12. Ding Dong 13. Karen 14. Bunny Hill 15. Don't Be Scared

The Rip Chords were essentially a false front behind which lurked future Beach Boy Bruce Johnston and Byrds/Paul Revere & The Raiders producer Terry Melcher. "Hey Little Cobra," a wimpier-than-usual hotrod record that benefits from Johnston and Melcher's full-bodied vocals, was their first big hit, generating a first album filled with unnecessary Beach Boys/Jan & Dean covers (four of 'em, plus an instrumental that basically rips off "Little Deuce Coupe") and a pretty good Melcher/Johnston, Spector-in-drag car tune, "Trophy Machine."

Much more intriguing is their guitar-heavy non-automotive material. "Here I Stand," their first single, updates Wade Flemons's 1959 Chicago R&B cha-cha with piercing, fruity falsetto and some vicious, loud guitar. "The Queen," which sadly isn't about a hotrodding RuPaul--she's a stuck-up Sting Ray driver--is vintage Dion goosed by queasy heights of falsetto. "Gone" sounds like the Isley Brothers' "Shout" with more tuff guitar, while "Ding Dong" is a doo-wop anticipation of "I Fought the Law." Post-album single/bonus track "Don't Be Scared" combines the Beach Boys' "Little Honda" and "Dance Dance Dance" with heavy fuzz. "She Thinks I Still Care," the Dickey Lee/George Jones country classic, is sped up Four Seasons-style with shredding guitar. And "Karen" (featuring the fabulous pun "I'm a fool for Karen") spices a mild Buddy Holly tune with killer destructo guitar from some anonymous L.A. Wrecking Crew stalwart. Fascinating genre-bending experiments, sadly never followed up. --Ken Barnes

Every song on this EP stays with you in a most pleasant way. And more than often you will find yourself humming "Static, Static" or "S.O.S." in the early morning.
This EP is highly recommended for anyone who loves good, straight-ahead, attitude-laden, fabulous rock-n-roll. The Zeros pay homage to the garage and punk greats who have gone before them, but in this EP spit out rawk that is purely their own! Brilliant cover of KILL CITY.

These four Eugene, OR lads are set to wage war on their namesake genre. They have raw rock smarts beyond their years. Strong songwriting and self-production proved these guys jumped straight out their mom's gut clutching the Rolling Stones' "Exile On Main Street" in one hand, the MC5's "High Times" in the other. Constant prodding from Gearhead Records led to some of their demos coming out on vinyl as "The High School Sessions" EP, followed by "The Weak Blame The Strong" EP, both contained herein as "The Two EPs".

Between 1962 and 1965, Eddie Bertrand and the Showmen recorded some of the most frantic and dead-on surf recordings ever. One of the founding members of the Bel-Airs, Bertrand left the group in pursuit of a bigger sound. When Leo Fender started building bigger amplifiers (the Showman model, which is where the group got its name) and stand-alone reverb units to go with them, Eddie found his sound and became one of the first of the West Coast guitarists to exploit these cutting-edge technological advances for all they were worth. Eddie and the Showmen sounded huge and commanding both on record and especially in person; their take-no-prisoners approach is finally on full display here, the very first compilation of their two-year recorded legacy. Combining both sides of their five singles for Liberty Records with seven previously unissued items of equal firepower, this is surf music at its finest. The title track, featuring two sax players blowing through just their mouthpieces to simulate police sirens, is twang-guitar excitement to the nth degree; for more high-energy onslaught, it's also tough to beat "Scratch," "Showmen Stomp" or -- for a real change of pace -- the country loony instrumental "Break Time." Eddie & the Showmen may not not have achieved their place in surf history accorded even lesser talented bands, but in assembling a collection of surf's best, this one should be near the top of the list. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
